The Peninsula Centre for Research and Policy Studies is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit policy research organisation serving Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa. The Centre produces locally grounded evidence, translates research into practical policy options and creates space for constructive dialogue, and it is being established to strengthen the connection between credible knowledge, public debate and better-informed decisions. Its work is organised around five thematic programmes — governance and the rule of law; peace, security and social cohesion; socio-economic development and public policy; environment, climate change and resilience; and foreign policy, regional affairs and geopolitics — each combining applied research with the convening of the institutions and communities the findings concern. That research reaches decision-makers through seven kinds of knowledge product, from research papers and policy briefs to dialogue reports, commentaries, podcasts and an annual flagship report, alongside training, mentoring and fellowships that build the next generation of Somali researchers. Across all of it the Centre holds to a single standard: clear methods and responsible data practices, findings protected from political or financial interference, and conflicts disclosed openly — so that what it publishes can be trusted by government, partners and the public alike, connecting national policy questions to regional dynamics and to international debate.
